Our mission is to promote wellbeing, health and a positive lifestyle through the practice and promotion of Capoeira and to establish Capoeira as a mainstream art form in the UK.
Capoeira is a Brazilian art form, incorporating diverse elements of African culture including dance, music, self-defence & acrobatics. In this form Capoeira has travelled around the world thriving as an expression of life and resistance. It is an amazing art form with the capacity to truly inspire.
LSC have been working in UK Schools for more than 20 years providing workshops, residencies & demonstrations covering all elements of Capoeira, including a story telling performance, which has toured nationally. We use our experience to devise projects according to client's requirements. We look forward to discussing your project in the near future.

BRAZILIAN FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL - Kickers Futsal
Kickers is a London-based club dedicated to introducing futsal, a distinctively Brazilian form of five-a-side football, to the UK. Futsal has not only played a major role in honing the skills of many of Brazil's professional footballers, but it is also an excellent way of preparing junior players for the 11-a-side game.
The club's Brazilian coaches all speak English, and are available to give lessons to children of all ages.

WORKSHOPS IN BRAZILIAN ARTS AND PERCUSSION - Creative Brazil
Themes: World Rhythm workshops/performances, costume-making and crafts, percussion workshops, Brazilian playground.
This project visits young people in schools or private groups. Facilitators teach percussion, singing, costume-making and crafts. We can provide the instruments and material. The workshops are tailored to the time and educational requirements of the school/group. The session culminates in a presentation of the skills learnt.
World Rhythm Workshops/Performances: Participatory workshops teach rhythm, singing and dancing and culminate in a performance of the music learnt. Suitable for all age groups. Can link in with existing school ensembles/projects.
Percussion Workshops: Activities led by qualified teachers. Classes during or after school. Instruments provided. Costumes created during the workshop from recycled materials, aims to teach people how to recycle old clothes to create fancy dress, fashion jewellery and costumes. Ending with a performance. An enjoyable challenge for young people. The facilitator will provide some additional material. The theme of the workshop can be linked to other events such as Carnival, Christmas, performances, parades etc.
Brazilian Playground: Brazilian Playground consists of an energetic and fun kids' show based on the CD Brazilian Playground by Putumayo records. Using puppets and props, the aim of the Project is to introduce the cultural diversity of Brazil to children. Maracatu, Frevo, Samba, Bossa-nova and Baiao are among Brazil's most popular musical styles. Brazilian Playground features these and other engaging rhythms that reflect the country's diverse culture. There is the option of an extra workshop afterwards, where the kids can help to build props and musical instruments similar to those used in the show.

FRESCOBOL, SPORT FOR ALL - Brazil Groove
Frescobol is fun, artistic, entertaining, healthy and a great sport to play! In most sports the player attempts to exploit his opponent's weaknesses, but in frescobol the player uses their partner's strengths. "Keep the ball in the air" is the motto. As you learn and improve your techniques, the speed and strength of the strokes increases, making the transformation from a fun game to a radical, fluid and extremely competitive sport.
Frescobol Sport for All is a project administrated by Brazil Groove with the Brazilian Federation's support. The project is dedicated to introducing and promoting this Brazilian racket sport in the UK by developing athletes and organizing events. As we are based in the south-west of England, our Frescobol Clubs can be set up in schools and universities in this region, and we are also giving support to new clubs and taking part in events all over the UK.
